Introduction

Laura Coromina is a ninth grader currently attending Miami Arts Studio 6-12. She is 14 years old and peruses a job as a scenic designer. She has been taking Technology Production for 3 years and is ahead in math by 2 years. She has done a series of competitions showcasing her talents, such as the MDCPS Refresh Logo Competition and the Innovate CTE Challenge. Laura has participated in theatre production as either production manager or prop handler. Laura has participated in SECME on the Bionic Hand team and in Math Club. She as experience with building things and electrical work. Laura works hard and never gives up. She is determined and tries to produce quality work. She listens and works well with others. She wants to get into a college that will let her experiment wil scenic development or design. She also wants to minor in advertising, since she wants to also work with her own advertising company that she will open up in the future. 

Laura's Plans

As the entertainment buisness is booming and Laura wants to be a part of that. The actual reason she wants to go into the field of scenic designers, is because she has always been in awe when it comes to how the set was made. How could a stage take you in and make you believe that you are in the show, as if what the show is showing you was real. Laura wants to leave the audience in awe when they see the set. She wants them to feel as if they are performing with the cast. 

Internshipping is a crucial part of Laura's future. She believes that as an intern, she can learn about time manegement and about what she is intershipping at. She would love to internship at major companies.

Laura loves to teach classmates and friends about what she learns in school. As a teacher, she could change someone's life with knowledge. If she was to become a teacher, she would focus on either Math, US History, or Technology. 

Current Work

Laura is working on a recreation of the Charlie's Angels Theme Video. 

She is also working on a poster for her school's show "Hooray For Hollywood."
